About our service:
The Orthopaedic Physiotherapy team works across both inpatient trauma and elective wards and into the community through our specialist community orthopaedic rehabilitation team, working closely with a wider multi-disciplinary team to ensure seamless care from admission to the ward until discharge.
Services we offer:
- In-patient Orthopaedic Rehabilitation – the Orthopaedic Physiotherapy service aims to help restore movement, function and quality of life following musculoskeletal trauma or elective surgery. A team of specialist Physiotherapists and support staff works closely with patients to tailor an individualised treatment plan. These include exercise prescription, mobility aid provision and advice and education, to suit your needs and goals whilst an inpatient. The team provide guidance and support on recovery including any post-operative restrictions and exercises. If further Physiotherapy treatment is required, a referral will be made to local outpatient Physiotherapy service.
- Community Orthopaedic Rehabilitation Team (CORT) – the Orthopaedic team also coordinate a community based service for a cohort of patients that require interventions at home following discharge.
