We provide services in the hospital, the community and at people's homes. The sites we operate from include Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Blaydon Urgent Treatment Centre and Bensham Hospital.

Gateshead Health NHS Foundation Trust operates from a number of sites, including the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Blaydon Urgent Treatment Centre and Bensham Hospital, all of which are based in Gateshead.

Our state-of-the-art facilities include a £32m Emergency Care Centre, a £12m Pathology centre of excellence and the beautifully-designed Peter Smith Surgery Centre.

We provide our community services from Bensham Hospital. Services available at this hospital includes occupational therapy, psychology and school services.

Blaydon Urgent Treatment Centre provides walk-in appointments and care for minor injuries and ailments, as well as emergency contraception.

Getting you home

Evidence shows it’s much better for your physical and mental wellbeing to leave the hospital as soon as you are well enough.
We need you and your families to ask questions about their care and recovery beyond the hospital setting, either at home or a care location suitable for their needs.
