We have invested more than £32m into a brand new, state-of-the-art emergency care centre which means we can see you quickly when you need us most. This modern centre is now treating patients as one of the most innovative units in the country.
Our maternity services are rated among the very best in the country. Our midwives can provide you and your family with dedicated, tailored care from birthing pools to epidurals at this special time for you and your family.
We are also home to the North East Surgery Centre – a beautifully-designed building which aims to give patients the same care experience you would expect from a five-star hotel. Each patient has their own room with en-suite facilities, and we believe this relaxed, individual atmosphere is vital in aiding your recovery from surgery.
We also run the Gateshead Fertility Centre, one of the top ten IVF clinics in the country. Over the past 10 years, we have created hundreds of families in Gateshead and the surrounding area.
Our breast cancer services are amongst the very best and our dedicated staff take you through every step of your recovery journey. We are also the main centre in the North East for women who have gynaecological cancer.
We have a nationally recognised reputation for our work as a centre for breast and bowel cancer screening. We are one of five centres across the country which provides screening for bowel cancer – serving an area from the Humber to the Scottish border.
We also run a wide variety of services you would expect from a local hospital, taking care of you from birth to our specialist services for older people.
