About the service
Gateshead Maternity Voices Partnership (MVP) is a forum for parents, maternity service providers and commissioners of maternity services to come together to design services that meet the needs of local women, parents and families. We want to hear the voices of women and families who have recently used the maternity services at Gateshead.
We get together every quarter in face-to-face or virtual meetings to discuss an agenda that is shaped by issues we know are important to parents. In between meetings, we engage with service users through our social media pages and (when safe to do so) face-to-face in community settings. The aim of these meetings is to hear your stories of maternity care and listen to what is important to you and your journey through maternity services at the Gateshead. The members of the groups include mums, dads and families from all different backgrounds and cultures; midwives, doctors and other healthcare professionals.
From your feedback, changes are being made to maternity care and services at the Gateshead. We also share the work being done within the hospital, to keep you in the loop and show you the changes taking place based on the personal feedback the hospital receives.
Get involved
Being part of your local Maternity Voices Partnership is a great way to express your views on the maternity care received during pregnancy, throughout birth and postnatal care. We value your views and opinions and these enable us to shape the future of your maternity services.
If you’re interested to find out more, please email us at [email protected].
Our private Facebook group is for those who have used the maternity services at the QE in the last five years and want to engage with the MVP to improve services for others in the future
We also run a public Facebook page where we post recent updates and useful information about the hospital that birthing people and their families might want to know.
