We are committed to delivering the highest quality services and improving healthcare. We have a range of services available that are delivered in hospital, in the community and also in your own home.
If you suffer a life-threatening emergency or a major injury, immediately attend the Accident and Emergency (A&E) department at the QE hospital. If you are unsure if A&E is the right place to go, please visit 111.nhs.uk or call 111.
Same Day Emergency Care is a patient-focused urgent care service for medical and surgical conditions that can be safely treated without overnight admission to hospital.
Our Urgent Treatment Centres (UTC) at QE Gateshead and Blaydon Primary Care Centre are able to treat minor injuries. Please use 111.nhs.uk or call 111 who are able to arrange an appointment to attend either of these services.
