Where are we?
The chaplaincy centre is located on the same corridor as The Hub, the main dining room at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
What do we do?
The chaplains offer spiritual, religious and pastoral care for patients, their relatives and carers and staff, of any faith or belief or none.
Their work sets them alongside the people they meet, offering comfort and support to those who are anxious or worried or a listening ear for those who want to express themselves or reflect in a safe and confidential setting.
They also provide spiritual support and seek to meet the religious needs of all within the hospital setting.
Our chaplains work in the Trust throughout the week during office hours and on Sundays. At all other times a chaplain is available through the emergency on-call service, which can be accessed by request to a member of the ward staff. The chaplains are also able to put people in touch with their own religious leaders.
In the chaplaincy centre, the hospital chapel and multi-faith prayer room (with associated ablution facilities) are both open 24 hours each day for prayer and quiet reflection.
Prayer requests may be left on the prayer board in the chapel and these names form part of the regular prayers of the chaplains.
