About the service
Liver services, also known as Hepatology focuses on liver related conditions. The service provides care monitoring and treatment for patients with a wide variety of both acute and chronic liver diseases.
We do this in a variety of ways including telephone clinics, face-to-face clinics, and inpatient support, we can also be contacted by patients for telephone support. We provide advice and assistance to our hospital and community partners.
We provide a diagnostic service to:
- Those referred in via GP practices
- Long-term monitoring and cancer surveillance for chronic disease
- Treatment of acute disease working alongside Community Drug and Alcohol services.
The Hepatology Nurse team consists of three nurse practitioners, working alongside three support workers, and is led by Consultant Gastroenterologist Dr Mansour and Dr Reddy.
