This section summarises the findings of one thousand and one respondents. Please note that not all respondents answered every question.


Key findings: Priority areas for women’s health services

  • Support for all three priority areas was evident. 94.7% of respondents highlighted gynaecology as being very important or important, and menopause was noted to be very important or important to 75.2% of respondents.
  • There was least support for contraceptive services with 45.4% identifying it as very important or important.
  • Twenty-two other priority areas were identified, however, of these, 122 respondents had already identified menopause, contraceptives and gynaecology as very important or important.
  • Breast screening and health was the most frequently suggested other health priority (27.9% of respondents).
  • The other main areas of priority identified were mental health (19.2%), fertility (16.4%), and women’s general health (13.3%).
