Before visitors arrive, they must have pre-booked a visiting appointment with the Nurse-in-charge of the ward, have no Covid-19 symptoms. We recommend taking a lateral flow before visiting but please do not attend if you are showing COVID symptoms or have a positive lateral flow test.Visitors must wear appropriate PPE.
Gill Findley, Chief Nurse, said: “We know how important visiting is for people who are in hospital, which is why our staff have worked hard to make this possible again. It is important for everyone coming into our site to be aware they must pre-book appointments, wash hands frequently, wear appropriate PPE and only visit if they have no Covid-19 symptoms. We want to thank everyone for their patience and cooperation at this time.”
Alongside visiting, there are still lots of ways to keep in touch with people staying in the hospital, including electronic ‘virtual visiting’, bedside telephone calls, or by sending messages to loved ones through our Patient Experience team.
To book a visiting appointment, please telephone the Nurse-in-charge of the Ward, or if you have any general questions about visiting, please contact our Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) on freephone 0800 953 0667 or email [email protected].
