Trudie Davies, Chief Executive of Gateshead Health NHS Foundation Trust, will take on an interim role as Acting Chief Executive of North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust (NCIC) from 28 July 2025, initially this will be alongside her existing responsibilities at Gateshead Health.
This interim arrangement follows the temporary secondment of Lyn Simpson, Chief Executive of NCIC, who has been asked to support the Humber Health Partnership as Acting Chief Executive.
To ensure consistent and visible leadership, Trudie will be based full-time at NCIC from 1 September. Arrangements are being made during August to ensure appropriate cover is in place at Gateshead Health to support continuity and maintain momentum.
Trudie Davies said: “I’m pleased to be supporting North Cumbria during this interim period while Lyn helps colleagues in Humber. Gateshead and NCIC already work closely together through the Great North Healthcare Alliance (GNHA), and this temporary arrangement will allow us to deepen our collaboration while maintaining a clear focus on the progress that both organisations, and the GNHA, are making together.”
Gateshead Health NHS Foundation Trust Chair, Alison Marshall, said: “These arrangements reflect the trusted partnerships and collaborative leadership approach developing across our region.
“This move is possible because Gateshead Health is in a stable position, with a clear plan in place to recover our finances and continued improvement in performance.”
