A huge thank you to Kathryn Connor who raised an amazing £500, by running her tuck shop in the office where she works, in support of the new cancer centre at the QE Hospital.
Kathryn’s father received treatment last year, but sadly lost his fight against cancer. Kathryn very kindly raised these funds to go towards the development of the new cancer centre.
Kathryn explained, “Every year I choose a different charity to support from the funds raised at my work tuck shop. This year I decided to donate to QE Charitable Funds as every penny donated is used to support patients here in Gateshead, whether in hospital or out in the community and I am very pleased to be contributing towards such a worthy project.
“Unfortunately a lot of us have been or will be affected by cancer and we as a family have been over the last few years since my dad was diagnosed.
“I have heard wonderful things about what Gateshead Health NHS Foundation Trust has planned, to make people’s cancer journey that little bit easier and more supportive and I hope this small donation can help somewhat. I look forward to supporting QE Charitable Funds again in the future”.
A huge thank you on behalf of the Chemo Day Unit and QE Charitable Funds to Kathryn and her colleagues for their amazing efforts.
