The Gateshead Health NHS Foundation Trust’s Maternity Unit has been a cornerstone of the Gateshead community for 80 years, providing exceptional care to generations of families.

Join us to celebrate the Maternity Unit as it turns 80 throughout December 2023. Gateshead Health’s Maternity Unit at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital has become the gold standard example for women’s health in the North East.

We meet three generations of the same family who were born at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital. This short video, “A Legacy of Care – Celebrating 80 Years of Gateshead Health NHS Foundation Trust’s Maternity Unit”, featuring Brenda, Rachel, and Charlie, is a testament to the dedication of the staff and the importance of maternity healthcare in our lives.
