Dr Yousif Shanshal is a consultant physician in the departments of medicine and care of the elderly.
He runs a fracture liaison service and bone health clinic for breast and prostate cancer patients on hormonal ablation.
Special interests
Dr Shanshal has a special interest in osteoporosis and is a lead clinician on the DEXA service at the QE Gateshead.
He is also taking a special interest in setting up an osteoporosis-related vertebral fracture identification and management pathway.
